Not Much Snow In Georgia Now

In Georgia now, there's not much snow
At times strong winds do howling blow
In winter Sparrows on ground play
Red Cardinals join in fun some days
In winter plants rest do not grow

Once a blizzard stacked snow in rows
Winds, cold so inside with cup of joe
Unprepared for snow no horse_sleigh
In Georgia now

When it snows, things go very slow
The birds visit__ even young doe
Come to my door eat acorns stay
Squirrels and Chipmonks search for cache
That they hid_ softly buried away
In Georgia now

" I am sending you a gift of poetry,
dear heart."
For this was inspired by your poem.
"And, the snow is gently falling"..
This is for you, Constance...

I really like this one and its lyrical qaulity, cool one you emulated of Constance's I think! Hey, is there EVER much snow in Georgia anyway. You lucky duck. come to Utah, you will get more on the streets than you'll ever care to see. Luv, Andrea

Enjoyed the read Sara. This makes me think of how quickly we should be getting snow up here. I was telling Al, that I am not looking forward to winter this year. Phyl

I used to live in Cincinnati - built on seven hills like Rome. You can imagine what happened when it snowed. You talk about SLOW! Now, Georgia, that be a whole different ballgame. Love, Dave

Great entry for the contest, Sara. Southern states are ill equipped to deal with the occasional snow storm. It once snowed three inches in Tallahassee and there are no snow plows there. People don't even know how to drive in it, so they just wait until it melts. I really miss the snow and may be headed to NJ for the winter. Grew up with the sleigh rides, snowmen and ice skating. Did see snow a few times while waiting in the Atlanta airport. Infrequent, I know. Love, Carolyn
