Not Knowing Nor Wanting To Know Newish
Stretching tip and Ativan and Norco
Laundry in the dryer
Crows and squirrels looking in the windows
And a good book to disappear into
As always pain, walker, cane and chair
Unexpected decline from years ago
Worked so hard to rid others of despair
Here I am avoiding orange like news
Wondering why and what these people choose
To spit and scream knock windows down
While it seems we and the earth are starting to drown
Will the earth and animals survive
Without mankind will the earth thrive
Questions I ponder— as I am getting old
Is the world starting to end
Will humanity live or are we dying
This many of us are pondering
Who will live who can thrive
I have no children and the sky is dark
A mistake perhaps I know as I sit here in the park
Though at this age I may never know
Yet I did not want to put them in this crazy circus show
Envy and greed may put this earth to an end
Still we view the world as we wish to see it thriving
Living glowing and striving
How long this will continue to exist we do not know.
As we sit among the woods and surf
Not knowing nor wanting to know
We walk and watch for now this ongoing show.
Except for scientists who give warnings
The ending the rest of us have chosen not to know
