Not Knowing

sitting there lifeless, not knowing what is next to come, praying the phone will ring, bringing some news of life without loss, days went by as you racked your brain, wondering who is lost, wanting him to call, he's a firefighter, not just your dad, he saves lives, he cant be lost, this one simple storm, it blew your life away, in one quick sweep, your sweet dream of safety was disturbed, everyone you speak to tells you just stay where you are, they say don't come home, its too early to tell, but to late to save anything, all hope is lost when 2 weeks go by, no word from your family, no sight of your dad, the fire fighter, he's brave you know but not made of steel, you think no one can break him, but mother nature has one this one, she broke your home, your just assembled life, now you set out to find the pieces left to rot, to see there is nothing left behind, your dad rescued as many as he could, but wound up needing rescuing him self, Your home destroyed and your memories floated away, so you move on to a new world of hope, still strong enough to rebuild but to weak to hold on, the struggle has just started to begin, so don't let your guard down, and don't loose sight of the ones you love, hold on tight, don't let mother nature win again,
