Not In the Night
Now begins the night
my world defines itself in light.
when everyone has gone....
I look around and I'm alone.
The barren room recalls
your voice and how the cadence falls.
footsteps on the stairs,
I turn to touch
who isn't there.
Splinters in my hands,
from crawling through the netherlands.
I'm Lost beyond the wire,
barbed and brutal with desire.
I'm forced to face the ways
to try and spend these loathsome days.
But I would be alright
except for you............
not
in the night
