Not Any Easy Game
life is not an easy game
nothing easy nothing the same
everything complicated with many names
life is not a simple game
remember being young trying to master
who is a friend who is a disaster
learning those moves often cause pain
life was cruel surviving was the same
life is not an easy game
still life can show one some softness
the gentle winds that blow, the golden sun and beauty of rain
a moment of kindness and an instant of fairness
a five to a man alone who is homeless
a smile and warmth to others with awareness
and keeping democracy without war
to continue fighting the crazy games we must abhor
