Not a Turtle Soup

This Soup is not for turtles; it’s a very lively group.
No, we won’t be having turtles; it’s not a Turtle Soup.

So don’t you hang around here if you move a bit too slow,
and those of you with “turtle” blood, you’ll need a cup of joe.

‘Cause you’ll have a lot of poets to keep up with, left and right.
And if you keep an eye out, you’ll catch bloggers in a fight.

You’ll post a poem, and on the list you’ll see its title there.
In half a day, you’ll look to see it’s vanished in thin air!

You’ll see a lot of contests and, if each time you get in,
you’ve done it at your health’s expense; your head will start to spin.

Don’t try to keep up with those poets posting crazily.
Just make a lot of comments and be “laid back” like P.D.!

And if you want to fit in here as if you’re family,
Then get to know sweet Carol and our own Linda-Marie.

But don’t be creepy crawling like a turtle in his shell.
You have to cruise the site and get to know each other well.

So just log on; breathe in, breathe out; get ready, set , now GO. . .
The Hare will win it every time here; turtles are too slow!

Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Eebadah, eebadah, eebadah. Oooowwww! You've opened up the boiling can - trouble's in the air - tiny folk are running round - they's kick-ass everywhere. Love this stuff. Hey! Does this be "slam" poetry?

And like a true hare I'm sure you'll bound over the finish line in top spot with this one. It has the whole package. A great entry for the contest ~ Sharon :)

:D Very clever and I've taken close note- I'll take the advice given and try not to be a turtle here. It is a bit confusing at first. This is very enjoyable, so well done. Best wishes, kris
