Not a Rabbit, Golf, Jetta But Something Else

With software the devil possessed
They've outsmarted EPA's test
So avoid the behind
Don't inhale near the hind
Of Volkswagen's diesel “skunk” pest

Author's note: A case for more, not less, federal regulation. This is an example of what is wrong with underfunded federal agencies and our reliance on self-certification. Meanwhile, what happened to all that carcinogenic air?

Thanks for the tips Duke. I don't drive nearly as much now that I am retired. ; )

I am quite sure that you drive very well, but not needing to drive much is a very good thing.

I was sure happy that my little 2004 silver Beetle was not embroiled in this mess. 2004 was a great year for the VW bugs as my car hasn't had a brake job since I bought it and we live on a hillside. I enjoyed your limerick Duke!

Yes, beetles are a healthy part of the environment still. So, be careful on the hills! At some point you will need new rotors and pads. We always do both at the same time although some people only change the pads. We like the feeling of good brakes and being able to stop. Silver has to look really good with the green all around!!

Linda, this will be a huge problem for VW since they have done something really bad. Makes all my mistakes look like "chicken feed". There was a more negative tone to your recent work. I hope you are well, and can maintain a positive outlook. CIAO!

yeah, you got it, Duke. Too many unfair practices to even keep count any more.

Yes, this is only one that we know of. There are just too many. I do hope you get to watch the debate on Tuesday because you will get to see a very unusual event. Mr. Sanders has not run a negative ad in his career. Just the issues, ma'am. In any case, you have a great week.

Oh I didn't know that the good old Volks// Car that is used here by a few old folks//has been approved for diesel//must be by one like a weasel// it's like we'd be inhaling some rotten yolks! Enjoyed limming with you, Duke! Man, that sure made up for my dearth of limerick! hugs!

You can definitely go with the flow. Try not to drive behind one of those smelly killers.

G'day Duke... another case of greed delivered to the consumer but this time the 'skunks' got trapped - Lindsay

Eventually, the scent is detected. I find it hard to get into the mind of the people who did this. It's capitalism gone amok.

Great limerick on such a sad state of affairs Duke - its really backfired on the company now. My late dad drove VW Beetles for many many years :-) hugs Jan xx

Jan, yes it is quite sad and reflects the worst part of human nature unrestrained. It is rather hard to believe they did this, but apparently they did. They hired the same law firm BP hired after the oil spill.
