Our hope is to learn from ETs. They could extract wealth from their planet, but was there a limit?

There once was a world resource bank Where aliens would freely yank Incredible shares But the wealth for all heirs Was lost and their planet did tank

Maybe it's earth. A limerick on aliens is something new. I like the tale.

Hilda, I was thinking that people should know that our trials and tribulations may have happened or could have happened in another place with not very pleasing results. The same will happen here unless we can fashion some means to live without destroying the natural balance.

You have a great sense of humour, i think people are not scared of aliens anymore and if they did arrive we would probably want to go with them to escape this earth of ours...

Thanks Silent One. If there are other inhabited planets in the universe we have to wonder if the ETs have abused their planets as we are doing. Since the forces of nature are likely the same throughout all galaxies, it's possible a lot have been ruined. If we wake up, we might be able to save ours. Hard to know what is going to happen, but I am seeing some bad things happening here.

Sounds way too much like the presence to feel comfortable, Duke. Nice Limerick, my friend. Bill

Thanks Bill. It's not comfortable knowing that we're digging a big hole for ourselves. It's difficult to fathom the depths of breath of damage done. We're playing with fire.

Duke my friend, In the pursuit of extracting riches from celestial words and the ramifications that ensue, delving into the wisdom imparted by ETs is a great idea. This extraordinary notion has the potential to bestow opulence upon every being on earth. Your limerick though unadorned, deftly employs the language of "wealth," "planet," "aliens," "shares," and "heirs" to effectively convey the essence of this poem. The inclusion of the term "yank" imparts a vigorous impetus.

SP, you see everything. My idea was that what aliens did on their world could happen here too. But your extension to the idea that humans could extract riches from here and other worlds as well is not off base at all. The return we will get from space exploration in terms of resources seems interesting. We've joked about the rich establishing second homes on Mars or the Moon in case they need to escape from here.

Daniel, I am trying a little humor to explain what is happening here at home. We're sacrificing our environmental health for short-term benefits. I was thinking this perspective might help people understand where we are going. A bit like a zombie film supposedly does....but I think people miss the point of those too. I am thrilled you enjoyed this one!
