Nostalgia

A melancholic longing for times gone A resounding echo that is calling A mirage of the desert That eludes the riders of the caravan And excites the loner like an oasis in wilderness

Yes, a mirage! Misty-curtained pretext for maudlin memories. Great write, Valsa!

I'm in awe of this masterpiece micro write crafted with sheer brilliance.. You've such a unique way of conveying deep emotions that touch the reader's heart in a very evocative and soulful way! Your writes are the source of discovering the essence of human feelings and I can definitely relate with this one a lot. Often, being swayed in the breezes of the past nostalgia, we feel lost and gloomy, thinking that an echo is calling us behind, "like an oasis in wilderness" Absolutely stunning :)

Like an oasis in wilderness! I love that line, in 6 lines you’ve delivered such deeply moving emotions and thoughts in such sheer eloquence. Sometimes we all go through those melancholic moments where we wish and think of days gone. I have those moments too. I really love also the line “ a mirage of the desert” you are such a gifted poetess that can express feelings we all have in such a profound manner. Goodluck for the contest .

Valsa, no dictionary could define/describe "nostalgia" as creatively and movingly as your lovely poem does! Janice

Yes, calling a mirage in the desert. I closed my eyes the other night and immediately woke back up as my mom came walking toward me clear as day. I hadn’t dreamt of her for awhile. You are such a great poet! One of my favorites!
