Nostalgia
It’s all but disappeared
Just as I once feared
No one can remember
Those fragile, precious years
I showed up at the door
Not knowing what’s in store
Clinging to the way it was
But now, it is, no more
Recalling days gone by
I feel it when I try
But unfamiliar faces
Shake their heads and sigh
They care not, for the past
It clearly didn’t last
Too busy with the present
And put out that I asked
I’m standing here, still
Despite the way you feel
My memories reside here
And that is very real
