Notes About The Poem

North Winds

howling northern winds

break bare tree limbs and branches

leaving open wounds

Hi Susa, I love the awesome imagery of this wintery Haiku! The personification of the trees makes me feel their pain! Best regards. Pandita

You paint a chilly and 'sore' picture, Susan, which means that you capably managed to transmit what you had in mind:) ~ well done! ~ Regards // paul

good personification of the trees. My poor tree got a big wound from a wind storm and it still never recovered.

Thank you Andrea. I hate that you lost your poor tree. We had several that didn't make it from an ice storm a few years back. Always sad to see.

Your poem say a lot with little wording and that is hard to do. Your use of stark imagery adds to the charm and the depth of this work. Emile.
