Never knew her real father, just his name. Vaulted to stardom selling glamour and sex. Terrific write, Janis, about such a woeful, tragic figure. There's a reason her marriages were short-lived. Another victim of Hollywood's cruel over-hype. Congrats on your trophy win! Best wishes, Gershon

Thanks Gershon. Hollywood did ruin one of her marriages, the first one.. DiMaggio could not deal with the over emphasis on sex.

Janis, this is full of history and interesting facts about Norma Jean - the "M" for her birth name Mortenson, her mother's mental illness, the suspicions surrounding her death. The question posed in the last line is brilliant. Congratulations on your podium finish! ~Mark
