Noise
In the dead of night with no one around
Wife sleeping so quietly; I close my eyes and I listen to the sounds
Laughter, waves and bird song
Music beating into the night
Breaking glass, a slamming door, cracking of thunder storm
Driving rain on a wind swept night
I hear jet fighters fly over in a clear summer sky
Engines roar with powered temper
In the distance speed cracking sharply before the roars die
People bustle in a Christmas market
Motorway humming over the hills
Dogs barking and wining
Cat calls screech through the air
The noise I listen to in my head
To eliviate the noise of nothing here
Imagination creates sounds I can hear
Because the still quiet in the dead of night
Is The Noise I can not bear.
