No Wifi Makes One To Ponder
There we were away for the weekend
a break to rest relax and eat well
in the countryside with no bus route
took the car there left to its parking shell
We stayed in really lovely hotel
staff so friendly and helpful indeed
food was good so fresh and tasty
nicely relaxed chill out so freed
The mobile phone could not connect
also, wifi was down and definitely out
this made us stop to have real think
no need to get upset and not to shout
No wifi really does make one ponder
we can survive without the modern stuff
time to read whatever with no set target
enjoy that book no need to call your bluff
Our grandparents managed without it all
are we really like them? accepted and content
this modern world seeks to draw us in
to want all we see even to grab and rent
Time here to go and walk step by step
enjoy the views of autumn full of colour
such beauty seen by our earthly eyes
makes one appreciate what the clouds duller
Soon no doubt we'll return back home
back to mobile phones, wifi ball things mod
be trapped again in our earthly web
does this really satisfy? speaks the eternal God
(Just some thoughts on a recent weekend away without wifi, phone connection etc.)
