No Way To Go

I see a road lined with toads;
And they’re poisonous at that;
There are signs posted so all can tell;
This road of toads goes straight to hell;
Men have traveled it from ancient times;
Why they choose it is hard to reason or rhyme;
I’ve been told by some that it lightens a heavy load;
Poison from the toads on the road relieves their aching back;
It’s plain to me their chosen cure is so much worse than their decease!

'Decease' - clever as ever, Kenneth! Cheers, Gershon
