Notes About The Poem

inspired by Terry Fox who, in 1980, with one  leg having been amputated due to cancer, embarked on an east to west cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research.

No Way

Life has too much to offer
I'm not ready to lay down and die
My cancer will not define me
It won’t limit me in any way

This challenge I will surpass
And rise victorious
Everyday l will accomplish
A superhuman feat

I’ll boldly go
Where no one else has gone
I’ll make a difference
I‘ll push and conquer

Never succumb to defeat
No sir No sir
This cancer
Will not win over me

That is exactly the attitude that will help defeat this horrific disease. Wonderfully expressed Line. So many give up when they hear that word losing the will to fight. Your poem should be an inspiration to all.
