No Rainbows

on the day before the rainbow when the sun began to shine I listened with the raindrops to a world that up and stopped alone beneath the fortress where scraps of life were cast bloodied, bruised and wounded left remnants lying how could this ever last a man without a calling misguided along forsaken paths born a weed wild as a days wind in search of the perfect storm the shepherd blinded by a broken shaft waits patiently for the light to come, to lead, to breathe
