Notes About The Poem

No One Wants To Be Green

No one wants to be Green

Chrisstmas is about greed
consumption
makes sense in a way
even makes dollars
the environment
means someone else has to pay
no sacrifice's for me
save the planet
without my two houses and SUV
not to mention my cool Humve
I have rights
to consume and consume
I love electronics
and the video thingy called Zoom
I get to rant
over and over
stop using those plastic bags
while my jet flies me the world over

Arthur, it was so nice to see a comment from you today, how are you ! I love your poem and how you use humour to make an important point, wonder if my recycling is helping to save the world. Christmas and gift giving means nothing to me, it is just another day but I do like to see the houses and windows blinking with lights (yeah I know wasting electricity, sigh) ~ peace and tranquility _Constance

I agree that there is too much waste Yet its all smoke and mirrors with some People, Elon Musk sends a rocket also Jeff Bezos & they are lauded by the same mainstream that support the envo? And if they were asked in a poll betcha they Would be strong on the environment.' I put here World tourisam tskes a heavy toll on species Who airs a lot of envo shows? David Attenborough Mr green so to say' I believe God gifted us the world so it Should be respected But not worshipped that is for God alone

Yes so much apathy, on the planet today, Bet there is loads of think-tanks in business looking at how to increase their mighty green dollar.

You make some very good points, Arthur. To me the underlying theme here is greed. Me! Me! Me! To hell with everyone else. Thought-provoking writing good for all of us to read and ponder!

I sense a "bit" of satire in here Arthur. The title however, is not totally true as in Boston.....everybody wants to be green....ON ST PADDY'S DAY.....

I have to decide if this is serious or funny. Whichever, it's lovely.
