No One Can Change Me
NO ONE CAN CHANGE ME
They brought me down
Then built me back up
Just to tear me down again
They told me I was nothing
Then pretended they cared
Just to insult me once again
They told me that I’d never make it
Then held me close to their hearts
Only to shove me away and laugh
All of this used to hurt
Until one day I realized that they were wrong
That I will make something out of myself
That I will make it far in life
That I’m not nothing but something
That I am loved
That i can love
That I’m me and no one can change me
That I can build myself back up by myself
That I can be independent and still need help
That I can be who and what I want to be
I am who I am
