No Daddy For Me

Please don't be angry at me
My serious poetic friend
I meant not to hurt you
I erased the words I sent
I never had a father 
I only had a Mom
She worked to feed and
Clothed us and spanked my bum
But when I read the comments 
That you are a father too
Not one but two girls
The words just came
This Poem is for you
I am sorry if I hurt you
I really meant no harm
I am not a city person
I grew up with animals
Running barefoot on a farm
You and I Are kindred spirits 
With souls much alike
This poem is an apology 
Not meant out of spite.

Eric Boddie January 31, 2016 at 9:50 AM kelli, I just had to read this because I, too, had no dad on my list even though his Love was my only wish but my young heart is what he did resist which used to anger me but in the midst of all his neglect, I became a good man, I insist, and now, all I have is this ass for him to kiss....that really touched me....
