No Beer But Whisky

I finally decided to have a beer
And not being risky to have a whisky
But my desire for something stronger grew higher
So I ended up drinking a whisky

Funny as heck, Gert...must admit in my younger, partying days I would start out having a beer (or two, three, etc) get tired of it and switch to whisky (Mercy me, what a hangover!) These days it's strictly a beer (or two, three, etc.) - Tim

was it a rough day? funny poem, since my back has been hurting me, I wonder if a whiskey will make me feel better? probably not.

A different Limerick with a meaning that is evident but then the underlying meaning that it holds. The meaning that so many times we have desire for something greater but settle for less for one reason or another..It can also mean that we should settle for less for different reasons but reach for something that maybe we can't afford or something that is not moral,etc..Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my work..I am glad that you understand about the dangers that fireworks can bring..Sara

LOL This is so cute, Gert! Many of us can relate to the "desire for something stronger." (I generally have one glass of wine and that's plenty!) Love, Carolyn

I like the irony in this poem. It flows very well and has a wonderful storyline. Great job! Joseph
