No Appetite, No Interest

I stood and looked on
a plate of sausages mixed
with salads specially made
for underworld guests of honor
who would smell the aroma
and invite themselves
to the great but horrible feast
in a hospital somewhere
in the land of Afghanistan
my stomach bubbled loudly
brain went dizzy and crazy
as I smelt the roasted flesh
still congested in the air
though hosts thumped chests
and the visitors feasted
No appetite, much interest
questions sounded ringtones
Is this what intelligent being
is capable of doing?
