Example for my contest.  I call it a Charonnet (lol)

PS: My mother actually died 30 years ago at the early age of 61, so this is not about my mother. But somewhere out there I'm sure someone's mother has died at age 99. R.I.P. whom ever that be.

I will post my contest shortly.

Note:This is not the traditional Sonnet

I smiled, when my mother had died I knew, her death was soon to be Ninety-nine years...so oft, she cried Not for herself, she cried...for me Someone waiting, dad, I suppose At gate...with an "Never-Die" rose Finally, pain she suffered...no more Lord, has her soul, thy...to adore When my mother had died, I knew Her death was soon to be, I smiled So oft, she cried...not for herself She cried, for me...ninety-nine years Just one more year, I wished...she had I'm sorry, but feeling...bit sad

Great sonnet my friend... In my hometown lived a couple, he lived to age 101, she to age 100... Both were faithful Christians... Death and Life, we in weaken flesh must pass away in order to be reborn into eternity.. A fav.. a gem.. God bless..

I hope that whoever's mom did not have to cry for their child 99 years. I hope she was delighted in them and that they brought her joy. I had an aunt that lived 98 years and 3 months. People don't live to be so old most of the time so she was blessed with a long life. Enjoyed reading your work. Sara
