Nine Angels

Nine dogs in my life
Nine angels looking for love
Gently love giving.

Most dogs in my life
By passing time were stolen
Still angels of love.

In memory of Bunny, Skippy, Thor, Bush, Arnold, Thomas, Berny
and dedicated to Nicolas and Wendy

It's too bad most of us outlive our dogs and cats. Don't you wish they could live as long as us?

Sure, Robert. It is our destiny to cry everytime a dog or cat goes away forever...

Wow you've had a lot of pets over the years! I wrote a sonnet once, in memory of my little pomeranian, who I had to put down because he was having seizures... it was sad :( This was fun to read and different than what I am used to in when it comes to haiku...

Yes, the first one, Bunny, lasted from 1961 to 1975 and came with us in USA at Brookhaven in Long Island for two years. We have now Nicolas and Wendy, two little maltese dogs. Again, I don't know if the HaiKu style is correct for the topic. Anyway, thank you

Marie. thanks for your comment on my garden lady. Maybe there is great beauty in imperfection. I know that I prefer a man with some kind of imperfection in his features to one who is too beautiful!!

Yes, I agree with you. Beauty is not synonimous of perfection. Anyway your description was better than the picture. I saw it after reading your poem and I saw immediately the imperfection, disturbing at my eyes. The girl is adorable.

Good Morning Mario, from my part of the world... a heart moving dedication... when you say stolen do you mean some one took them from you... if so! I know how sad it is when that happens, and how they are still a part of your home.. i had 5 shitzu's stolen last year... i still have only one pup... my daughter asked about dogs being angels that other day... luv~ Linda

No, Linda, stolen by time, they are dead. A dog lasts no more than 15-16 years and my first one, Bunny, died at 14,5 years on 1975. The youngest one, Thor, died at only three months.

Man's best friend. They do keep our blood pressure down for a reason. This was very touching.

Thank you Drake, I only wanted to acknowledge the simple, true love that only dogs (and maybe other animals) can give.
