Listen to poem:

Nighttime Terror

November 29, 2023 _____________________________________ The footfalls are audible in the hall. I can hear scraping against the wall. During that time, I was lying in bed. The obscurity engulfs me in dread. A screech can be heard in the yard. Hammering the window truly hard Shadows wander across the night. Demons are beaming with delight. Aeries carried by a hovering broom. Wolves shout in the gaze of gloom. Sounds of bat wings flying quite loud. The moon had been covered by cloud Exhaustive respiration outside my door I fade further into the covers and snore. By making a turning motion on the knob. The boogie man has completed the job.

This will make any one scream so loud ! Very scary and blood curdling descriptions. This would have made a beautiful entry for the Halloween.

Get outta there ! That's a creepy place. It scared me and I am thousands of miles away. Wow you wrote that well dear friend. If it were the narration of a movie, I would have the heaviest wooden rolling pin in my hand as I watched. So impressive. (still shaking) WOW.

Sights and sound of terror you convey through your words in sleepless night. Your poem has the intended effect, my friend.

This is a different theme again written so well dear DR. Sotto, I absolutely love this poem, and how you’ve rhymed too, so descriptive and well articulated imagery that flows just seamlessly: I especially love the lines “ Sounds of bat wings flying quite loud. The moon had been covered by cloud” hauntingly stunning! And the ending concludes perfectly. Its always a pleasure reading your imaginative and profound writes, shows how versatile your pen can be: nighttime terror well depicted. loved it
