Nightfall Arrives

The blanket of darkness lays across the hills As night settles in and wind stops, it stills Not a tree moves, as silence consumes Seeping through walls, into empty rooms Worn thoughts are left at the end of the day From taking many turns along the way Just trying to get things done, to survive Now it’s time to rest, watch nightfall arrive Heidi Sands 4/13/19

Hello Heidi, the nightfall is peaceful. So relaxing. Meditation clams the mind of thoughts that came of the day. Have a nice day my friend.

I have watched such a night arrive! Your verses sing to one that sees night as friend when it is nit an enemy to my sleep. Great and powerful imagery.. A fav..

I want to echo Sunlite's comment below, and add this: I really like how you utilized "stills" as a verb in the second line. So creative... And finally, I'm with you: When night falls, it's time to rest. Blessings, Gershon

I am struck by how your observance of nightfall turns into a metaphor of aging. Beautiful writing, Heidi.
