On the 14th April 1912  R.M.S. Titanic on its maiden voyage hit an iceberg in the north Atlantic and within a few hours on the morning of the 15th had sank to the bottom'.

Over two thousand people were on the Titanic when it hit disaster and only 700 hundred people survived.

It affected the survivors greatly and it changed many of their lives forever with many suffering from survivors guilt.

Asleep in my cabin as we crossed the ocean Woke up with a start to a sound like big thunder All around me now was just noisy commotion An iceberg we’d hit that was tearing us asunder. I have survivor’s guilt suffer nightmarish dreams See widespread panic hear the sounds of loud screams I would love to forget that night of memories But to do so would somehow dishonour the deceased. written 9th April 2019 For writing challenge 1-April, 2019-Its All About 8- Poetry Contest. It was one of the blackest days in the history of oceanic voyage . The day remains as a jolting memory in everyone. So we can imagine the trauma the very memory evokes in the heart of the survivors. Powerful presentation.... Tom

Thank you Robert, after that tragedy the rules were changed regarding life boats and evacuations so some good came out of that awful tragedy. Tom.

Yes Tom I’m sure that was a terrible realization. I always think of the bravery of the band as they continued to play music as the ship went down.

Thanks Swetha, the Titanic was already at sea and on this day 107 years ago collided with an ice berg and in the early hours of the 15th of April sunk to the bottom of the sea. Tom.

That was so horrible and yet, we learned nothing from it. We've now gone a step further in the wrong direction, autonomous cars, trucks, planes, etc., It blows my mind how we humans, collectively, never seem to learn.

Thank you Joseph, I think what causes the imprints is the amount of fatalities' that occur, if no one had lost their life I don't think the story would have been so popular. Tom.

Human pride provoked nature and unfortunately for all the passengers on board humanity lost! I think you know that a novel was written before Titanic was constructed that had foreseen all the events that followed! A excellent tribute to the tragic event dear friend, Tom!

Thank you Demetrios, a lot of errors were made in in its construction that didn't surface until years later, I did hear about a book that that had similarities to the actual disaster. Tom

Great job, Tom. We can never forget these kinds of things, even those of us who did not live through it. It will go on through history and when not one person remembers it, it will be a memory dead from the world.
