Night Jasmine's Perfumery

I alight from my parked car 
Ecstatic at the fragrance
Of my night jasmine bowers
Guarding my iron gate

The aromatic tree is a perfumery
At midnight it starts budding
By dawn in full bloom drizzling
A white and saffrony carpet in my arbour

I hand pick the teeny pristine stars
Perched on saffron  centred tubes
Placing these corralled arbour  artists 
In a watered crystal bowl

My hands retain its perfume for hours
Nostalgic reminders of getting a sapling
From dad's nursery to plant in my garden
Dad left behind his aroma in his night jasmine.
