Night

Twilight descends as shadows fall and slip into a dark'ning night. A hidden nightbird's wistful call, as stars burst forth in silver light and moon arrives in frost-spun white. Blossoms, drowsy, bend silken heads. Birds nestle in their feathered beds Night's whispered music gently spills o'er purpled hills and silence spreads As night surrenders song...and stills.

Top poem Ann. I can feel the artist in you creating a scene of peace and serenity as stillness falls. I love the poem's atmosphere. Cheers - Gary

Great pen Ann, I've never heard of Dizain before but it looks really nice and effective.

I didn't know Dizain either, Gordon. I entered a contest that called for it, and now it has become my favorite. Thank you for commenting :)

You seem especially tuned in to the changing heavens -- dawn, night. How about twilight next?! Superb poesy, methinks. Thanks, Gershon

Gorgeous writing, Ann, with rich, relatable images. I loved your dizain, and I know how difficult they are to compose!

Thank you, Milton for your kind comments. Dizain has actually become my favorite form, at least so far. I'm still learning :)
