New York Barbecue

Once there was a right dandy dude from New York
He dined each day on the finest loin of pork
Never met a pig he did not admire,
Roasting on a flaming barby fire
Made even tastier by the pop of the cork.

I hear that, Ilene, but then you should spell it "yawk," right? Thanks so much for your read and your comment. Nope, I'm a West Virginian living in Kentucky. Been through New York a couple of times, but didn't stay long.

You got fun, funny lines prancing on a page Milton! I have been a vegetarian for sometime, but since you mentioned pork... well, maybe next time. Great humor, solid write!!--ab

Thanks so much, Anselmo. I write limericks which I can't come up with more serious poetry. I really prefer to write blank verse, sonnets, pantoum, and villanelles. Your comment is well-taken. I don't think I could become a vegetarian because I love steaks and chops too much!

Jan, methinks you are highly suggestible, my dear. Yesterday, I had people singing "Candy Man." All in good fun. Maybe I should give up limericks! But...I had this good line "finest loins of pork" that cried out for New York! Thanks for the read, Jan.

Yeah, Jenna, I was thinking the same thing when I wrote this. We have a place called "Smokin' J's," great barbecue. Thanks for the read.
