New Years Resolution By Franklin Price 12/31/2018 New Years Eve has finally come It took almost a year Since last it welcomed in the new This resolution you should hear As the clock is striking midnight Ball is dropping in Times Square Whether you are home with family Or celebrating there May I suggest a resolution That doesn't seem to have a flaw Resolve to put your brain in gear Before you flap your mindless jaw Always think of what you say The how, the what, the why The words that fall on open ears Make others angry, laugh or cry Think well of your intentions Before you open mouth to talk If you received, what you're to say, Would you just get up and walk? If what you're speaking matters Be sure of what you tell Choose the best of words to weave If you expect to cast a spell If what you think, is your opinion, And what you think, you think is cool, Learn a little more before you speak Let another be the fool
