New Year resolutions

A new year has begun
Thank god 2025 is done 
What a terrible year
Yet from the gloom I appear
Slightly less broken
From the explosion 
That 2025 revealed 
An entire narrative concealed 
That needs burning to the ground
So the truth can be found
2026 is a year of consequence
For those who have shown incompetence 
For those who lie and betray
You will meet your day
In court under oath
Where you will be exposed as the roach
I hope it was worth it for you
Now is not the time to be subdue 
As I the broken one
Refuse to let you shun 
2026 is the year for growth
A year to take back control
To become whole
To treat those who matter with kindness
And to help reveal the brightness
Within you
And make it through
2026 is a year for change
To be able to rearrange
The priorities I have forgotten 
I maybe downtrodden 
But I need to be able to love myself
Improve my health
And be whole again
