New Year

As needles fall from Christmas trees the year dies,
Midnight fireworks explode with fizzing anticipation.

One of my favorite times of the year! So much said with so few words. New years bring new hope for me. The end is the beginning! Beautiful.

I like the imagery, Elizabeth. Back in my home country, there are lots of fireworks on new years eve. Here this does not seem common.

We usually have lots of fireworks in our local village, they are quite spectacular.

A clear fin de siecle, a decisive picturesque beginning to the new year as it explodes. No wasted words, well written
