Listen to poem:
New On the Job
New On The Job
Nightmare and anxiety seems to steal away the rest you need
Those with seniority rub in the fact that their taking the lead
Asking for help is burdensome to those in a very high position
Any good you accomplish being the newbie goes unmentioned
The first day takes you back to grade school with all eyes on you
Everybody scoping you out and wondering if you know what to do
That feeling of making a mistake and being the center of attention
Facing the ones who's been there a while with a cocky disposition
Being new on the job has a very annoying feeling attached to it
You don't know who to trust, who to talk to or even if you blew it
You're striving to gain the
approval and appreciation of your boss
Hoping he would have sympathy for you at times when you're lost
It's always unclear as to how long it would take to learn the ropes
There isn't anyone who doesn't start a new job with the feeling of high hopes
The first couple of days send you home and your joy is robbed
This all comes with the territory of being new on the job
