New Driving License

Hip- hip horay
I got my driving license today
after so long, and at very last
I can lay-to-rest, the "him" in my past
now the real work starts
at 61, I have to learn
to be the queen of hearts
It begins with changing my glasses
always helps if you can see
now I have to work hard
to be all I can be
to fully become the woman
that always resided in me.
Hormones are working overtime
new thoughts arrive
like exploding fireworks.

official recognition that my transition is permanent.
