New Day In the Metropolis

The demons and ghosts of last night have faded with the morning light A nice crisp day here in the metropolis Sun streaming in through my window A new day filled with possibilities I take out a pen and write this ode The midsummer heat has faded Now, city dwellers can enjoy the fall The High Holidays, football and Halloween coming up Autumn leaves dance downward onto the pavement A brief respite before winter chill enters our very bones!

I love this poem, Matthew...in style, it reminds me of one of my early poems. Autumn never fails to inspire! Regards // paul

The First 2 lines have already caught my attention. All the more reason for having the rest of the lines especially the last line. A great twist for that matter. ;)

I now can imagine a creepy night fading softly into the new day. Matt, I'll take the possibilities over anything. You have a very high muse and I enjoy the way you put your pen to use. I should take a lesson from you one day. Love LINDA
