New Day
A fresh morning free of mourning
and a moment of laughter and light-
A novel day in a whole new way,
free from the harshness of night.
The days of yore did abhor
as I flew into a moment of regression-
But today I pray and I must say,
I’ve let go of my transgression.
A bright new sun has begun
as I reach for the morning paper-
I’ve let go of atonement lost in the
moment and never felt greater.
Forgiveness I’ve given as mercy I live in
and started to open my soul,
to the feelings of healing through the
broken hearted;
my damaged heart whole.
I look forward to tomorrow,
free from my sorrow
and listen to what my heart’s saying-
I allowed grace to arrive
as my kindness survived
through a lot of sincere praying.
Renewal of my essence and
many learned lessons
gave me rejuvenation-
I realized my strength as its greatest length
as I’m grateful for my creation.
My tranquil days see the beauty in
restoration free from a life I once knew-
no more frustration
just serene alleviation,
as my terrible days are renewed.
