New Boss As Same As the Old Boss

New Queen Bee moves
in her workers,
not noticing
the building Rebellion
within her own regime.

The old Queen Bee
just watches the Rebellion
build—
knowing the new bees
will kill their own Queen
to live in peace.

The old Queen Bee
watches—
and smiles—
as the new Queen Bee dies.

The old Queen Bee looks
at her new worker bees
and screams,
"Work! Work! Work!"

Great stuff. This reminds me of that blues song, "Big Boss Man": "Big boss man, can't you hear me when I call? You ain't so big, you just tall, that's just about all."
