New Beginnings

She loved roses, especially the red rose. She knew it conveyed love, desires and longing. The reddest rose can be used to convey respect and devotion, as well as admiration. The number of roses received have romantic connotations associated with them. The darkest rose conveys heartfelt regrets and sorrow. Her roses were always dark. She kept a petal from every bouquet of regrets and sorrows she had ever known. Preserving their delicate softness between pages of an old book. Over the years the petals wept, staining the pages of her book, where they had slept. Each tear held a poem that was penned onto each page of her old book. The pages were eventually filled with much pain, promise, regrets, love and healing. This was her gift (to herself) and today she decided to share it with the world.
