Never Would Have Made It
"Never Would Have Made It"
by: Eric L. Boddie
Do you know when you will die, well, my exact time is never
That is so me and my Homie can always be together
I know, at some point, my body is supposed to become food
But my Spirit will survive because that's my Dude
When I needed a helping hand, He Was My Brother
And if I am in need again, I won't have to look any further
For any needed advice, He Has Been A Father To me
And His Advice Is So Good That It Still Guides my destiny
When I need someone to listen, He Is The Always The Truest Friend
He Is The Only One Who Can Pick you up before your fall begins
One day I was so broke that you couldn't even hear that change rattling sound
But He Is So Good That He Left me money on the ground
I can't remember stomach rumblings, the taste of hunger has rarely reached my mouth
Because Mama introduced me to Him when I was born, He Lived In our house
So if you are ever in need, and my hand is free
I will make you understand that He Still Lives In Me
Because my Soul comes with a price, well, He Already Paid It
I'm just trying to tell you that without Christ, I never would have made it
