Never Mine

Walking through your door not knowing how to tell you everything I feel.
You've always been someone else’s; never mine.
I didn't care that you didn't feel the same way.
You never saw how I looked at you.
You never noticed that I cared.
Now it's my turn to tell you how I feel.
You've been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I think it's time you knew why I put up with you for so long.
You've changed the way I look at things and it is fine.
But, you've always been someone else’s; never mine.
When I look at you and see a smile,
Even though I know you're thinking of someone else,
I can't help but smile.
I've loved you since the beginning.
Since that moment I first laid eyes on you.
I felt something for you.
But, you've always been someone else’s; never mine.
I've never been able to tell you how I feel.
But finally, I have my chance.
I've never been able to get over you.
If you don't care what I say then I'll know
You'll always be someone else’s; never mine.
