Never Meet Again

Take the loves I've had, throw them far Let the pains I felt disappear As we will never meet again In my mind's eye where they were clear To wrestle with enduring pain And fight it daily in the mind To defeat as to why they stay Purifies the soul, to remind To be a clean and polished slate And hold a love my heart will know With new dreams that burst forth now I'll leave my pains from long ago 8/11/17

It takes a while to leave those pains behind, but they do dull in time. The heart holds on to memories, good and bad. I always enjoy your poetic insights, Frederic.
