Never Lose Hope
There on the craggy mountain
Rocks abounded full of moss
Dew made the way slippery
Climbing was difficult even without a cross.
Up high was a lovely arch
With words that urged for hope.
It was my destination
But the climbing was hard, steep was the slope.
I had made up my mind to try,
There was no other way to go
Yet the paths interlaced full of dew.
I fell a thousand times, but I had to know.
The going was tough,
I could not bear the thought.
That I was going to fail.
I had walked and climbed and all for naught.
I turned back and went down.
The going was easy now.
Life became better and full of fun.
I should have learned better and who cares anyhow.
Suddenly I came to a large ferocious river.
A river of no return. I trembled in fear
For then I realized I was a fool.
Yet all around were demons pushing me from the rear.
A soft voice called my name
”You're still in time, turn back.”
So I returned to my arduous climb
It was harder now but knew that was my real track.
