Never Had a Chance

Diane Perna Never Had A Chance Daddy, when will all those tears wash away the hate and where will I go from here? Daddy, remember when I was a young child all those nights I cried because your words cut so deep and our lives were torn apart. Daddy, as I whisper to the heavens and to hell where will hate lead us from here but no one really knew what happened to us. Daddy, you can’t hear me now but I still feel the pain you hated the helplessness in my eyes. Daddy, everywhere I can hear your words even the Lord can’t cancel this no one can ever help me with this. Daddy you left this world without a word when will the hate be washed away we had to say goodbye with no words. Daddy, we never had a chance and you can’t say we ever tried!

Your poems are very powerful and stark. Sometimes the adult doesn't share the pain, cos that's how it is. Times a great healer, but something tells me not in this life.
