Never Be Perfect
“Never Be Perfect”
Lately I’ve been thinking too much, clouding these blue eyes with imperfect visions
Seeing things in darkness without the light from the moon or stars
Thinking of what if I had done this, what if I had done that, why am I still here
Past choices are called mistakes for then it was when I wasn’t thinking at all
To believe or not to believe that the crystal pictures we paint can be seen by everyone
For the life we live today may not reflect how we live tomorrow
Shall we be forsaken in our ambiguous quest to be perfect to those who follow us?
Here I am for I am me, not be mistaken for whom I once was so many years ago
Confusing as life may be you shall not count the feathers that fall from the eagle
You should not see what is left behind, rather look at the footprints being made today
Let not your heart be broken, yet let you heart be whole as it fills with love again
Life is once lived on earth as you see fit to live it, not how others perceive you to be
I can only watch the hour glass as the sand slowly drips out slowly
How do we explain that the sand is our past to be forgotten for the best is yet to come?
We are who we are for our past makes us stronger like the legs of a child learning to walk
We will never be perfect but we can strive to the angel God created us to be
