Neighbors Missing
I already have friends suffering from serious health issues lately, with one dead
Now, my neighbors are missing and there is a constant feeling of dread
Although I have been here years, I am not close with them the same way
We had an incident long ago, when their dog had attacked mine
But, they are nearby and I notice their activity paying attention for this reason
I can see them from my yard and every day I pass their house on my walk
They are very active people; always coming and going, working in the yard, biking, etc.
I have never seen them leave on a vacation, since I moved here in 2013
Now, suddenly over a week ago, both their cars are in the driveway not moving
All activity has stopped completely and nothing at all is seen with this couple!
The woman who isn’t home a lot with her car now there, first caught my attention
Then each day, I noticed the vehicles didn’t change position, I didn’t see the couple at all
So, I finally called the police for a well-being check to be done last night
Two Sheriffs arrived; one had his vehicle in the street with a spotlight on the house
The other was parked in the driveway close to the house, near the steps
I watched from my location as they knocked on the door numerous times, no answer
Then, they took flashlights and looked in the vehicles and all around the yard
I could hear a lot of conversation, but I couldn’t hear what they were saying
Then they left, one by one and there was not an answer to be found
I understand they must verify the couple is not traveling or something first
I cannot give them permission to go into the house, as I am not related
The police may need a warrant or permission from someone they personally know
I do not know where their families are located or who their close friends are
But, now it is ‘today’ and there is still no activity and there is still no news
The police have my phone number, but I haven’t received a call yet
In addition to other situations, it is very worrisome, as I wait for some kind of answer and relief
Lately things are just piling up, getting heavier and heavier every single day
I can only take action and pray and pray
*Update: I have spoken with the Sheriff who is helping. He left a phone message there to call him, but there has been no response. We do not know where the family is for permission to go in the house. He will be driving by there each day this week. I noticed what looks like a white envelope on the deck, leaning on the house near the door. There is still no activity or word of what is going on.
*6/2/22- update: Still missing. No answers yet.
*6/12/22: update: The neighbors are finally verified to be ok.
