Needs

need coffee even though decaf one-half cup gets me up old age causes adjustments in lifestyle to be made when death comes it hurts to the core emptiness loneliness they arrive each day, linger thoughts to share pop-up coffee's jolt can't heal depth of pain time can heal or so said healing does need to happen where life can go on how long, long how long will it take woodpecker's tapping sounds distracts temporarily tears return, grief flows

I feel saddened reading your poem. Life is not easy for anyone. Let us take it in its stride. Time can heal the pain to some extent.

Thank you, Mystic. I was walking the dog, and it looked like a young woodpecker on the end of half a branch of the oak tree where the other half of the branch had fallen. He was pecking in a rhythm like a drum player. Sara K

Thank you, Yann, for the nice review. Does alcohol bring happiness? I don't drink alcohol. I have seen what it can do to a person, so I avoid it. Sara K
