Needed Change
The world spins
Making its way around the sun again
Millions of years in rotation
It knows not
What happens on its surface
It just continues its task
And fulfills its purpose
Mindless to the tragedies
And suffering
That is covering it
The earth gives us all we need
Food to eat
Water to drink
and the air to breath
But no one seems to see
Or give a damn
Wanting more and fighting for
Things we don't need
We are a weed calling ourselves man
Destroying the land
It's so unfair
But it allows our way of life
So we don't care
We process everything we consume
Because subsidence isn't enough
And even though no one can truly own
This big rock we call home
We feel we lack enough space
And refuse to share with
Certain others in our race
Telling them you can't cross
the invisible line
Because this is all mine!
Until it's no longer enough
And we bust
Into someone else's
And force them to give it up
By any means necessary
we deploy
Willing to kill
To Destroy
The land and its inhabitants
To build more factories
It's a tragedy
Ruining the air with emissions
And cutting down the tree
That reconditions
And recycles the oxygen
What's the smartest species again?
We deface this earth
That's been maintaining us since birth
We Kill out entire species
Hunt just for fun
Live like earth isn't important
Like there's another one
Wake up
This is ed up
How long will this place last
When it's trying to heal
And we are killing it twice as fast
We are conveniently blind to the facts
What is it that we've really achieved
Boats, planes, cars, trains
Making the air smell strange
Landfills
over filled
Throwing out half our meals
Going past the pollution limit
Making deals
To continue it
Meaningless bombs explodin
Leaked Chemicals causing erosion
Mining the earth hallow
For elements
To fuel, to build, or just to look at
And refusing to circumvent
Because it makes money
And it's convenient
Oh yes, money
The root of all evil
The reason two men
are no longer? equal
A made up device
Used as a vise
To control
So powerful
It can corrupt souls
Cause wars
Makes people blind
To the wrongs they commit
And makes them lose their minds
In order to get more of it
Few will admit
But everything done
Under the sun
Is for idol number one
The almighty dollar
It's worth everything
To everybody
Worth more then
Ones health ,Love ,friends, or
Even ourselves
We need to change direction
Offer earth protection
Find cleaner ways to live
Show each other respect love
And affection
Join as one
