Think of it as a one line haiku... have a look at some monoku... Nature ones normally do very well...

This is where I show my ignorance, S1, with forms ... I've only been writing poetry for about eighteen months, (though I've written lyrics most of my life), and there are SO many forms that I need to learn more in-depth. I was just reading in a Kindle book about Haiku/Monoku, and it was saying JUST what you did - that it should be about Nature or seasons ... live and learn! I was going to enter one called "Flirtatious" that would have been perfect in that regard ... I'll get there, slowly, lol. Thank you for the help, my friend - please critique me ANY time and let me know when I'm missing something, especially when it comes to forms and rhyme schemes - I really WANT to learn this well, and this is the place to do so! :-)

Thank you, S1 ... I so greatly appreciate it, and I'm honored to be on a list with such great poets! I seem to keep coming up a bit short with Monoku, however, and I think I may be trying too hard - trying to say too much with few words. I always felt this form should tell a story, but most I read are more topic-oriented - just brief impressions - so I think I'll take a different course next time. Thanks again for the honor, my friend. :-)

Thank you SO much, Anne-Lise, I so appreciate the kind comment ... I believe that's what good Haiku and Monoku should do, (or attempt to do) - tell an entire story with what few words are there, or make the reader feel an emotion ... cliche's and simple statements seem to always better me, however, so I may try a different direction next time ... I am very critical of my own work, but that's how we improve, right? Blessings and thanks for the sweetness, friend! :-) <3
