Navigating the Pandemic

It seems clear that the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over, and I'm hoping people don't become complacent and irresponsible. This virus hit our planet like a worldwide storm, but we are fighting back. Moreover, we dare not bury this monster until he's truly dead. The 2020 pandemic journey was like a wilderness wandering, and it behooved everyone to at lease try to develop a workable strategy to cope and survive. By now, everyone must have concluded that we all are but dependent mortals and not the master of our own fate. No, my beliefs are not new, but they are reinforced and strengthened, because of adversatives experienced as a result of The COVID-19 Virus. And yes, I looked further inward to the core of my heart and soul for a fresh examination, but more importantly, I looked more upward to God. The 2020 pandemic was like a slow walk through a twilight zone. There were several practices that I formed as philosophies within me. I determined not to panic or be overly alarmed and lose control of things for which I was responsible. I decided to cease worrying over things for which I had no control. The masks, the distancing, the temperature checks, the frequent washings, and the understandable quarantining initially required never bothered me. We mortals are designed by God to respond with 'rational resolve' and 'will', and not simply by our emotions and instinct. I heard and observed many opinions and theories, but sought to stay in balance and draw my own conclusions. Certainly not always, but to a large extent, we each live and die by the choices we make. Of course, we realize that many often perish who have no choice. I listened to the voice of God through the Bible from which he said many things to me. Among them were, "Be still and know that I am God". "I am with you always; even to the end of the age". "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you....". I had respect for the dangers, but refused to be overwhelmed with fear. 050821PSCtest, Your Philosophy During This Pandemic, Chantelle Anne Cooke
